Dance Recital

Kalynn had her first dance recital today! Her group did a tap dance routine to "Twist and Shout". She stayed backstage with the dancers the whole time (her routine was only about 2 minutes long). They are a good bunch to keep such little ones "cooped up" for that long, lol. Enjoy the pictures and the video. (She is in the back row on the left end.)

Happy 5th Birthday to my princess, Kalynn!

It has been a long time once again since I have made any entries into the blog. Sorry about that. Today is my baby's 5th birthday so I just had to share some photos of her party. She wanted a princess party and we decided to do a small one at home. Kalynn really enjoyed it. Each boy had their own knight's breast plate and shield and of course all princesses had a tutu, crown, and wand. Kalynn liked being amongst "royalty". She had a couple of "diva-tude" moments where she didn't want to play a couple of games. My favorite one was when we were playing Party Bingo. She didn't want to play. I tried to coax her by saying "come on and play so you can win some prizes!" She never missed a beat as she told me "I don't want to play. I can buy my own prizes at Walmart."
Marco and I made Kalynn's castle cake. Everything on it (except the carriage) is edible. It is not the neatest cake by any means but we had such a great time working on it together. Everyone said that it was delicious. (We couldn't eat it because we are still fasting for Lent. I'll check it out in 3 days when our fasting is over, lol).
